Last year, the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, invited Sidhartha Mallya, son of liquor and aviation tycoon Vijay Mallya to give a lecture on the green initiatives launched by his company.

Sidhartha, 25, talked about how Royal Challengers Bangalore, the cricket franchise he runs, had taken the lead in waste management and tree-planting.

He explained that the effort was the result of a discussion on the subject within the IPL community.
